Week One: The Boxes Are Here... Now What?

If you've ever watched a small business on social media and thought, "Wow, they have it all together," let me tell you a secret...

We don't.

At least not in week one.

This week has been a whirlwind of deliveries, unpacking boxes, organizing inventory, and trying to figure out where everything is supposed to go.

Every day seems to bring another package to the doorstep. Books. Packaging supplies. Self-care goodies. Subscription box items. Stickers. Shipping materials. Storage bins. The list goes on and on.

What started as a dream on paper is slowly becoming something real.

And if I'm being honest, my house currently looks a little like a warehouse exploded.

But it's exciting chaos.

In between working my 2 regular jobs and keeping up with everyday life, I've been painting and setting up my office space. It's still a work in progress, but for the first time, I'm starting to see the vision come together.

There is something special about creating a space dedicated to a dream.

Every shelf organized, every bin labeled, every package unpacked feels like another step forward.

It's easy to focus on the big milestones—launching the website, getting the first order, making the first sale—but there are so many small moments that happen behind the scenes. The late nights. The planning. The organizing. The trips to the post office. The endless pile of boxes.

Those moments matter too.

This week reminded me that building a business isn't about perfection. It's about progress.

One shipment at a time.

One painted wall at a time.

One organized shelf at a time.

One order at a time.

We're only in week one, and there is still so much to do. But every day, Bookmarks & Breakdowns is becoming a little more real.
